My Open Letter to American Society of Primatologists (ASP), International Primatological Society (IPS), & American Association of Biological Anthropologists (AABA)

On February 18, 2023, I received a letter from senior researchers and former advisors at the primary chimpanzee field sites I worked at during my Ph.D. training, roadblocking a completed manuscript that had been in revision since my graduation in 2021, cutting my ties to use of long-term data at the field sites I worked at, and essentially ending my ability to publish on most of the research produced during my dissertation. They offered no scientific justification for this decision.

The decision came after a years-long battle through a difficult collaboration. The manuscript, and the data it contains, is valuable at several levels, as are several in prep manuscripts/projects.
